Zingiber mioga - MYOGA GINGER - a native of Japan where it is grown commercially for its delicious spring shoots and young flower buds produced in autumn. Myoga flower buds are used in soups, tempura, pickled and as a spice. Experimental commercial plantings are being undertaken in Australia & New Zealand in the hope of supplying the lucrative Japanese off season with high quality produce. Our first release of Myoga will be in late Winter this year, 2004. Our stock is limited so get your order in early if you want to try it.
